Comedian Jon Daly looked sophisticated in a dapper black suit on The Secret Life of Walter Mitty red carpet of the centerpiece gala of the New York Film Festival on October 6.

At the event, which celebrated Ben Stiller's new film, Daly spoke to Enstars about his character in the film, working with Stiller, and his new Amazon show, Betas.

In the film, Daly plays the role of a bureaucrat who is stuck in the same situation as the protagonist Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller) but does not share the same motivations.

"I am a fear-based, shame-based man that is, kind of just trying to hold on to his job, and I am in the same kind of place as Walter Mitty but Walter has his dreams and imagination that kind of propels him out of that. I don't have that. I think by the end of the movie, I probably jumped off of a bridge or something like that, but you don't really see that happen," Daly said.

This was also Daly's first time working with Stiller, who directs and stars in the 2013 film adaptation of the 1939 short story of the same name by James Thurber.  Daly said that Stiller's approach as a director was quite flexible and very "open."

"He is also really brilliant in all of these dramatic moments he was doing and then simultaneously, very smoothly directing a movie. It's like one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. It was like an education from the start," he added.

Another project Daly is very excited about is Betas, a show he stars is in, which will release on Amazon in November. It is one of the first two shows that Amazon is producing. While describing his character on the show, he also explained the "giant beard."

The show is set in the Silicon valley and focuses on a group of four software developers who have created an app and are looking to sell it. Badgley Junior plays an angel investor who invests in their app.

"It's kind of like the social network, if everybody was a loser," he laughed. "My character's like Justin Timberlake's character in The Social Network if he never had succeeded in it and always failed."

Daly is also busy working on the second season of The Kroll Show (Comedy Central), which he writes, produces and stars in.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will hit theaters on Dec. 25.
