Austin Mahone Dating Camilla Cabelo of Fifth Harmony? He Thinks 'She is so Cute,' Source Says

A romance may be brewing between pop singer Austin Mahone and Fifth Harmony's Camilla Cabelo, People reported Tuesday.

Back in December, the 17-year-old What About Love vocalist tweeted his support for Cabelo, 16, whose group came in third place on season 2 of The X Factor. He wrote to her, "Hey gorgeous! Good job tonight. I voted for you." Months later and it appears as if the two singers are still talking quite often.

"Austin caught Camilla's eye when they were both in New York for the MTV VMAs [in August]," a friend of the teens told the magazine. "They met the day before at the Arthur Ashe Kids Day and have been in touch ever since." 

The singers may not have been spending much time together recently -- with Mahone in Miami rehearsing for his headlining tour, which kicks off on Oct. 17, and Cabelo in Los Angeles finishing off Fifth Harmony's EP Better Together, set for release on Oct. 22 ---  but a source told the publication that they are in touch regularly. 

"Austin thinks she is so cute and she feels the same," the insider said. "They're staying in touch and are looking forward to hanging out together soon." 

The singers have not publicly addressed the status of their relationship but Mahone cryptically tweeted on Monday a message about takling to someone special.

"When I text you, it's because I miss you. When I don't text you, it's because I'm waiting for you to miss me!" he wrote.

Fifth Harmony will also be accompanying X Factor judge Demi Lovato on her Neon Lights tour, which kicks off Feb. 9, 2014 in Vancouver, BC. Also on the road with them will be Cher Lloyd and Little Mix. Tickets went on sale Oct. 5 and the tour will end March 30 in Indianapolis.
