Nazanin Boniadi, who made her debut on Homeland on Sunday, made headlines last year when she spoke about an obscure incident that occurred with Tom Cruise.

The Iranian-born actress wrote a very detailed article for Vanity Fair, in which she recalled being selected by the Church of Scientology to be Cruise's girlfriend in 2004. The leader of the church David Miscavige, put his wife in charge of finding a woman suitable to date Cruise following his 2001 divorce from Nicole Kidman.

"Thus began a month-long preparation process that entailed her getting audited every day and telling Wilhere her innermost secrets, including every detail of her sex life. Nobody who had been in a threesome, for example, would be considered-a rule that apparently eliminated one candidate," the article stated. "Next she had to sit down and prepare a 20-page, single-spaced essay on what she wanted and needed in her life in terms of a partner, family, and work to satisfy her goals and aspirations."

Boniadi, who was an aspiring doctor at the time, dated Cruise briefly from November 2004 to January 2005. While the first month of their relationship was pleasant, it went downhill after that. Boniadi reportedly offended Miscavige on one occasion, which caused Cruise to completely diss her.

Since her relationship with Cruise, Boniadi appeared in several shows, including How I Met Your Mother and General Hospital before landing the part of Fara Sherazi on Homeland.
