Although Miley Cyrus recently became infamous for her performance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, the young singer just released her new album, Bangerz.

To talk about her music, the VMAs, and Saturday Night Live, Cyrus made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon following Bangerz debuting at No. 1 in over 70 countries.

With vocal appearances from Big Sean, Nelly, and Future, Cyrus explained why she decided to include Britney Spears on the title track.

"I really wanted to put someone who...represented pop music to me and that was really Brittany," Cyrus said "Britney was my first album, I went and brought that and Metallica. That shows you how bipolar I was at a very young age."

For the 20-year-old, both her album and her appearance on Saturday Night Live were a chance for people to see that there is more to her than just what viewers can see from the VMAs or magazine covers.

"What was fun for me is [that] everyone has something to say and I think that at the end people forget that what I love to do is...performing," Cyrus explained. "It was a good time for me to show people that I don't just twerk and lick stuff, I can actually sing and I can act. I'm multitalented."

Bangerz is out now via RCA. Check out a video of Fallon, The Roots, and Cyrus singing We Can't Stop.
