Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David might be joining Man of Steel 2 according to the latest rumors.

Star Ben Affleck - who will be playing Batman in the film - allegedly wants David in the 2015 blockbuster film, according to a Tuesday report by RadarOnline. Affleck and David are friends and California neighbors and allegedly talked about co-starring together in Man of Steel 2.

"The pair chatted about the idea with earnest abandon throughout the course of Emmy weekend," the insider said. "Larry has long been courted by the big budget superhero industrial complex, being linked to roles in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man sequels nearly a decade ago."

The insider went on to say that David trusts Affleck and enjoys spending time with him "and this could be the right situation for Larry to finally appear in a huge-grossing hit film."

The insider suggested that David could be playing Superman's (Henry Cavill) nemesis Mister Mxyzptlk claiming that the actor is "a dead ringer for the character." Mister Mxyzptlk is a trickster from the DC Superman comics who enjoys tormenting Superman and is only able to be banished by saying his name backwards.

The RadarOnline insider claims that Affleck is "taking over this whole production - he could come out of this with a producer credit." This may lead to Affleck getting what he wants and casting David for the villainous role.

The 66-year-old David is known for his grumpy roles in such productions as Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which he plays an exaggerated version of himself, and the HBO film Clear History.

Man of Steel 2 is scheduled for theatrical release on July 17, 2015.
