New Orleans rapper Big Freedia opened up about Miley Cyrus' controversial 2013 MTV VMA performance.

Freedia, the star of Fuse TV's Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, weighed in on the the global attention the We Can't Stop singer garnered following her Blurred Lines duet performance with Robin Thicke.

"We've been twerking," Freedia told Enstars exclusively. "Pop stars came out and twerked, but it is definitely authenticated in New Orleans and from bounce music."

He shared his opinion in New York City on Sept. 25 shortly after he was handed the Guiness World Record plaque for Most People Twerking Simultaneously. Ahead of the premiere of his reality show, he successfully assembled 358 people to twerk at the same time outside of Macy's Herlad Square department store in midtown Manhattan.

The openly gay performer said despite the global attention Cyrus has brought the dance that has been popular in New Orleans for at least twenty years, as the queen of bounce he is ready to snatch the short-lived throne from the former Disney star.

"The queen of bounce music is here to take over the throne. To let 'em know we are the originators of twerk and to show em how it go. I thank [Miley Cyrus] for that but the ambassador of twerking is here to take over the throne," Freedia said.

The dance phenom offered some advice for those who want to learn how to twerk for the first time: "Practice in the mirror. Watch those moves to control them."

Freedia said his reality show is unlike any other that has been out before-- it is the first to cover the urban culture of bounce music scene in New Orleans. In the sneak peek for tonight's episode of Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, Freedia said filming his new music video has been problematic.

"This new video has more people, more money and more problems," he says in the voiceover.

Freedia's original hair stylist has an issue with his manager Renee for bringing in a new hairstylist to a creative meeting.

"Renee says she brought in a new stylist," she says. "That's not gonna work!"

Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce episode 2 will premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 11 p.m. EST on Fuse TV
