Justin Bieber is happy to show off how hard work got him ripped abs and uploaded a photo Wednesday on Instagram of him topless with his trainer.

Bieber wears only pants and a baseball cap in the shot and his trainer, Patrick Nilsson, flashes a smile while standing proudly beside to the singer. The 19-year-old is serious when it comes to getting muscles but he does not take himself, or his many shirtless "selfies," to seriously.

"If u can't laugh at yourself u are missing out on a lot of laughs. Don't be so serious," the Heartbreaker singer tweeted earlier in the day.

He has been trainer harder since his Believe world tour kicked off in Asia in September 2012, according to Newsday. Since hitting the gym with more hours he went from 120 pounds to 137 pounds, resulting in 17 pounds of muscle. He told the publication earlier in October, "We all want impressive chest and arms."

Bieber and Nilsson have been following a strict, five days a week workout regime.

"[Justin's] so motivated - it's the first thing he asks for in the morning," Nilsson said. "The total goal is to look like he's well built, but I want him to feel really good too. Once that's done, I would love for him to work on his athletics and be able to touch a basketball hoop - fun stuff like that."

The Canadian has reportedly always had an athletic body. He grew up by playing hockey in his country and was also named the Most Valuable Player in NBA's 2011 All-Star Celebrity Basketball game.

Bieber is still on his Believe, promoting his latest studio album by the same name. He plays a show in Seoul, South Korea, on Thursday before heading to South America for more shows.
