Janelle Monáe video for Primetime, which features Miguel was released on Oct 11.

The setting is a dystopic club which has robots for dancers, one push to a button in their head gets them working that sexy sway. A soft croon rides the slow slinky groove as one of the female-bots takes the stage in the very dimly lit club, and Miguel walks in.

Monae plays a waitress, Cindi Mayweather, and Miguel -- whose gaze is fixed not on the sensual dancers but the songstress -- is a customer, Joey Vice. Vice and Mayweather communicate through their eyes from across the room, flirt some when she serves him a drink, and sing to each other. "I want to ride till the stars come out and play, tonight just me and you alone," the Adorn singer woos his fictional lady love.

In an exclusive behind the scenes look featured on ET, Miguel and Monae spoke about working with each other.

"We're gonna kind of be experiencing, you know, Janelle's world set in a very Blade Runner-like setting," Miguel said. "I happen to play the love interest in the video, so it's going to be fun and interesting...The set is incredible and I don't think we've ever seen Janelle like this, so it's exciting."

In the clip Monae suggests that the song was actually written keeping Miguel in mind:

"I am just honored ot be working with Miguel, we are both fans of one and other, so it's very organic how it all happened," she said. "When I had written Primetime I thought of him, and I wanted to do my first love song duet  with him."

The song is off of Monae's latest album, Electric Lady, which released on Sept. 6.
