Kate Middleton and Prince William have already selected six godparents for Prince George, which will be announced at the baby's christening on Oct. 23.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have hand-picked the godparents which reportedly are going to include some of the trusted friends and college pals the couple want to be major parts of their son's life.

According to The Daily Mail, William's college friend, Fergus Boyd, 31, was reportedly asked to be one of Georgie's godfather. Fergus and William went to the university together and even shared a residence hall during their first year at Eton.

Another one of William's friends, Hugh Van Cutsem, 39, was also reportedly selected to be one of George's godfathers. William is already godfather to Custem's 5-year-old daughter, Grace, who was a flower girl at the royal couple's wedding. HollywoodLife.com noted that she was that little girl who famously covered her ears and frowned as Will and Middleton kissed on the balcony.

The Duchess tapped her friend Emilia d'Erlanger to be one of godmother selection. They attended Marlborough College together. Erlanger is also a longtime friend of Prince William, and reportedly helped the couple decorate their newly renovated apartment at Kensington Palace.

The last three god-parents have to be revealed.

The couple is going against royal tradition in yet another way by selecting non-royals as their son's godparents.

"They are rather unexpected off-the-wall choices for godparents - not the usual suspects of William's closest friends who we anticipated," a royal source told The Daily Mail.
