The latest news to surface on former Christian Grey Charlie Hunnam stated that the Sons of Anarchy star had second thoughts about taking on the role because he didn't want to get typecast like he feels Robert Pattinson did with the Twilight Saga.

Chatter had dominated the Internet that Hunnam, 33, relinquished the part of the S&M-crazed CEO dues to scheduling conflicts.

However, a source informed People Magazine that the Sons of Anarchy actor was also worried about his future image and reputation following the saucy flick.

"He dropped out of the project because he didn't want to be typecast. He didn't want the Robert Pattinson-esque attention that would come along with taking on this role."

Pattinson, 27, is mostly known for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies, which have gotten him overwhelming amounts of attention from its fanatics.

According to Belfasttelegraph, Hunnam was seen serving as the best man at one of his friend's weddings on the same day the announcement was made.

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is scheduled to be released on Aug. 1, 2014. Only time will truly tell who Hunnam's replacement as Grey will be.

Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder and White Collar's Matt Bomer are two fan favorites that have continually come up as potential suitors for the groundbreaking role.
