Kate Middleton Dress: Sauciest Look Yet for Royal Highness? [Photos]

Kate Middleton stepped out wearing a designer dress which is being criticized by some for being too racy for her royal highness. The Duchess was pictured Monday evening wearing a Roland Mouret gown at a private event at the Claridge Hotel in Mayfair. The high-necked long white gown had a thigh high split, which raised eyebrows for the typically conservative princess. She wore the outfit with a pair of Jimmy Choos.

Yahoo News reported: "While it wasn't exactly an Angelina Jolie leg flash, Kate Middleton showed some royal thigh last night when she stepped out with Prince William in London." 

Kate arrived with Prince William for the even hosted by Thirty Club. 

A royal source told the UK Daily Express: "[The prince]'s been invited for about the last nine years but thought it right to accept the invitation this year as he has this personal landmark [his 30th birthday] coming up and it is such a landmark year for the Royal Family in general". 

France's First lady Carla Bruni is also said to have worn the dress. Mouret told Grazia about how delighted he was that Middleton wore his dress. "I am absolutely delighted that The Duchess of Cambridge chose to wear my Lombard gown to the Thirty Club annual dinner... The Duchess has an elegance and timeless beauty that is a breath of fresh air, it is an honour to be part of her journey".
