As beautiful celebrities dazzled in designer outfits at the Met Gala 2012 on Monday night, there was one high-profile reality star who was nowhere to be seen. Kim Kardashian, who is currently dating rapper Kanye West, was not invited to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala.

Though Kanye was invited, Kim was not by his side because she had been banned by Vogue's Anna Wintour, who is one of the main organizers of the event.

A source told RadarOnline: "Anna hates Kim. Why would she be invited to the event? It is all the biggest stars in the world and Kim doesn't fit that bill at all."

Stars paid their way to the ball, with Kate Upton reportedly handing Wintour a $25,000 check to take part in the prestigious event.

The source continued: "The Met Gala is $25,000 a ticket, but Kim can't even buy her way in, Anna Wintour does NOT want her there!"

Kim and her sister Kourtney were recently photographed in Los Angeles and were not in New York at the time of the event. The source says Kim's party will deny that she has been snubbed by Wintour.

Meanwhile, as news about President Obama's same-sex endorsement came to light, Kim Kardashian tweeted: "Wow... I just heard that President Obama has officially announced that he supports gay marriage!! This is such a huge step forward in our country's fight for civil rights and I hope that today this will give hope to so many young people across the country."

She continued: "We've never had a president so supportive of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and today I am proud to be an American!! I'm so happy that our country is making history and moving forward. No more living in the past!"
