The Duchess of Cambridge didn't let a pair of skinny jeans and Stuart Weitzman wedges stop her from showing off her skills on the volleyball court at the SportsAid athlete workshop at the Olympic Park Friday--an event that marked her first public appearance without her husband Prince Harry since giving birth to Prince George on July 22, 2013, Huffington Post reported.

Video of Kate Middleton playing a match surfaced after we released photos Friday. Her teammate, rower Steve Williams, was pleased with her skills. "She got a couple of slum dunks - I think technically they call them spikes - in there. She's very tall and athletic and we were all pretty impressed."

But her heels did stop her from playing in a friendly fencing match. The Telegraph reported that when athletes asked her to fence before her volleyball showdown, Middleton, who was the captain of her school's hockey team, kindly declined and said, "I've brought the wrong shoes."

Junior European judo medalist, Nekoda Davis who was giving fencing a try herself, said of Princess Kate, "She wanted to give it a go but said she would bring better footwear next time. She said it would be hard to fence in those shoes."

She also said no to a game of netball. Wheelchair basketball star and TV presenter Ade Adepitan said, "It's a shame she didn't join us as it's one of the few sports that able bodied and disabled can play together. I think she'd be great- she's got the height and is very naturally athletic. But she said she had only ever played netball at school...She was very keen to learn more about the difference SportsAid meant to these young players..."
