McGraw is ready to be a single man but Hill wants to try and fix problems in their 17-year marriage, an unnamed source told the tabloid. She reportedly asked in September if Chesney could convince her husband to stay in the relationship and not file for divorce.

"She begged Kenny to talk with Tim and get him to stop humiliating her in public and start working on their marriage," the insider said. "All of Kenny's instincts were telling him to stay out of it. He argued with Faith, telling her that he and Tim have not been close lately. But Faith has also been Kenny's friend for many years and he could see she was frantic."

"[Chesney] eventually caved and told her he'd speak with Tim," the source added. "[When they were on the phone] Tim screamed, 'Stay away from Faith and keep your nose out of my business!' "

The source went on to say that McGraw might not have been too happy to hear from Chesney. Hill's husband is reportedly jealous Chesney is a a "bigger star than him." The singers teamed up on their Brothers of the Sun tour last year and McGraw allegedly acted like "a complete jerk" toward Chesney on the road, which left the two on bad terms.

McGraw and Hill's second round of their Soul2Soul in Las Vegas kicks off Friday, Oct. 25, and runs through April 2014.
