The Hunger Games: Catching Fire star Jennifer Lawrence is holding an early screening of the film through her self-titled foundation.

The Jennifer Lawrence Foundation serves to help teens and adults with intellectual disabilities in the actress' hometown of Louisville, Ky. Lawrence is organizing the screening of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on Wednesday, Nov. 20, two days before the film is released nationally. Proceeds from the charity event will go to St. Mary's Center, an organization that serves "over 150 adults and teens with intellectual disabilities from the Louisville Metro area.

"We are in our 20th year of providing vocational, functional, academic and socialization training. In addition, we teach lifetime leisure skills and a vast array of sports activities," according to the organization's website.

Lawrence wrote a letter for the website, explaining that she had a "special place in her heart" from an early age for those afflicted with Down Syndrome.

"When I Met Andy Strunk in the 6th grade, I knew I had met a very special guy as well as a lifelong friend." she wrote. "My friendship with Andy has driven me to become involvement with organizations like St. Mary's Center and the Special Olympics. I am so excited to announce that I have been named the official ambassador of the Special Olympics! I am looking forward to working with them."

Tickets for the event can be purchased here. Lawrence will not be in attendance at the event.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, in which Lawrence reprises her role as Katniss Everdeen, will be released in theaters on Friday, Nov. 22.
