The new trailer for Anchorman 2: The Legend of Ron Burgundy released Wednesday follows the ambitious San Diego-based newscasting team as they head to New York City.

The group has been recruited for a 24-hour-news channel that is being revived in the city and they are all set to make a comeback.

The trailer starts with a funeral for Brick Tamland (Carell), who comically speaks at his own funeral. Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), and Champion Kind (David Koechner), who are also present at the ceremony, make him realize that he is not actually dead. The team travels in an RV to Manhattan for a new assignment but they get into an accident as nobody's steering the ride and Burgundy thought putting it in cruise-control would do the trick.

"From deep in the hinterland to the greatest metropolis in the world, they came to reclaim their glory," the voice-over introduces the team as they walk into the GNN offices, the news network they will be working at.

The trailer is chock full of the team's racist prejudices and bigotry. Burgundy can't hold back when he finds out that the network is run by Linda Johnson, an African-American woman. There is also an interrogation with a homosexual newscaster and they believe he is a vampire ("Do you sleep in a cofffin?" "Are you allowed to be out in the sun?").

Burgundy also gets socked in the gut by Linda and starts to squirm like a little girl.

Kristen Wiig was added to the cast as Brick's love interest. The original team of filmmakers reprise their roles for the sequel. The film was directed by Adam McKay, produced by Judd Apatow, and written by McKay and Ferrell.

Anchorman 2: The Legend of Ron Burgundy hits theaters Dec. 20.
