Kim Kardashian's engagement ring from Kanye West may be much smaller than the one her ex-husband, Kris Humphries gave her--but the rapper paid more.

The New York Daily News noted, the Yeezus rapper most likely dropped up to $8 million on the 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz jewel.

According to Forevermark Diamond expert Adelaide Polk-Bauman, such a ring would cost West between $7 million to $8 million.

"This is exceptionally rare. Very few places in the world have diamonds such as that," Polk-Bauman said.

And that seems just about right. When West took Kardashian to Paris for Fashion Week earlier this fall, he reportedly went ring shopping at the city's most expensive jewelry store, Boucheron.

Back in 2011, Humphries proposed to Kardashian with a 20.5-carat ring and only paid $750,000, as it retailed at $2 million. The Boston Celtic got his money back for the emerald-cut diamond when it auctioned at Christie's for $749,000.

"Kim's ring is D-flawless," a Lorraine Schwartz rep said. "It's the best color, clarity, and cut there is. There's no comparison!"

While Humphries laid out rose petals in Kardashian's home for that engagement, which was televised, West took her to her ballpark to with a 50-piece orchestra and close family friends. Her recent proposal is said to be featured on an upcoming episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians."

However, the 33-year-old reality star's ex-father-in-law isn't banking on long marriage between Kardashian and West.

"Does a leopard really change its spots? I don't think so," Humphries dad told The Daily News. "Not much changes. It's just different actors this time around."
