After St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford suffered a torn left ACL in Sunday's loss against the Carolina Panthers, the 3-4 Rams hit the panic button hard.

St. Louis asked Brett Favre if he would be interested in coming out of retirement to be their QB, according to ESPN.

"It's flattering, but you know there's no way I'm going to do that," the athlete said of the opportunity. "I had a great career. I think if anything, the last year that I played was an obvious writing-on-the-wall vision for you, if you will. It was time."

The 11-time Pro Bowler played 20 seasons in the NFL. Favre suffered a shoulder injury while playing for the Minnesota Vikings in 2010, which ended his consecutive-starts streak at 297. He retired later that year. The signal-caller implied that even if he wanted to play, his body would not let him.

"I'm like a yardstick, I'm so stiff," he said. "So I'm just trying to...not stay in shape to play, but stay in shape to do everyday things, not only with my daughter and my wife and my grandson, but really just for me."

Fortunately for the Favre faithful, they'll be seeing him in Canton, Ohio, when the Green Bay Packers legend gets inducted into the Hall of Fame. Favre is eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2016.
