A plea from X-Factor judge Kelly Rowland's biological father to see her "before it's too late" has pushed their relationship into the public eye.

Christopher Lovett, 67, revealed to Star magazine that he has not seen his daughter in decades since her mother, Doris, took off with her because of his anger issues. Now that he's getting older, he wants to see reconcile.

"So many previous years have passed...I just pray she comes back into my life before it's too late. I couldn't control it. I hoped I could make it up to her. But I'm still waiting for that day," Lovett told the magazine.

He added that he has indeed been trying to get a hold of Rowland for years now, but hasn't been successful yet.

"Whenever [Destiny's Child] was on the cover of a magazine, I would call and beg them to tell her I was looking for her." He added that he loves her with 'all my heart and always has.'

According to All Hip Hop, Destiny's Child member Beyonce Knowles and her family adopted Rowland and took her in when she was five-years-old.

Rowland isn't 100 percent shutting down the idea of reconciling with her father. She recently spoke about him in an interview in the September 2013 issue of Essence magazine. "I haven't [seen my father yet.] I don't know what's stopping me because I've had opportunities," the Motivation singer confessed. "But it really is time. I probably need to ask my therapist about it."
