HBO has released the synopsis for next week's episode of Boardwalk Empire after the shocking events of Sunday night's episode.

Daughter Maitland (Margo Bingham) stabbed Dunn (Erik LaRay Harvey) to death when he began choking Chalky (Michael Kenneth Williams) in Sunday's shocking episode. With the feud between Chalky and Dr. Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright) growing stronger, Nucky (Steve Buscemi) will stay out of their conflicts in the next episode.

According to the HBO synopsis for episode 9, titled Marriage and Hunting, the episode will feature Nucky refusing to back Chalky in his ongoing conflict with Narcisse. The promo for the episode features Chalky telling Nucky to essentially "impose a death sentence" on Narcisse.

In other scene in the promo, Narcisse tells Nucky that Chalky's political power is "bating." This surprises Nucky, who exclaims, "Is that a threat?"

Meanwhile, in Cicero, Van Alden (Michael Shannon) will be standing up to Capone (Stephen Graham) and finally come clean to O'Banion (Arron Shiver). The preview features Van Alden asking Al Capone if he can blow O'Banion's head off for the price of $1,000. Rothstein (Michael Stuhlbarg) will be looking to trade an insurance benefit for a cash infusion.

With Boardwalk Empire's fourth season winding down, Graham spoke with TV Guide about what to expect from his character Al Capone.

"By the end of the season, [brother] Frank has had such an impact on Al's life that it's really made him change his ways," Graham noted. "It's made Al a little bit more hesitant. He's become a little bit more weary. He's still a 'guns blazing' kind of person, but he has taken a bit of his brother's legacy on board. He's trying to be a bit more like Frank about what he should do and how he should run the business and ultimately take over. "

Boardwalk Empire airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
