Falling Skies is hard at work on season 4 and it looks like its going to be a bumpy ride for the 2nd Mass.

As the summer season begins, the Masons and their cohorts will becomes separated, thrown in different directions and placed in drastically different situations, as can be seen from a promo from the New York Comic Con (see below).

"This year were starting the season in many ways inspired by The Empire Strikes Back where the family, as it were, has been divided, sort of violently divided," said new executive producer David Eick in a video interview with IGN. "Part of the season involves striving and yearning to put the family back together."

From a teaser filmed early in production on episode 1, "The Ghost in the Machine," it looks like the 2nd Mass will fall into some sort of ambush on their way back from Boston. As they are torn apart form each other, the image of the moon will serve to keep them close.

"The idea of the moon, the moon that unifies us, that we can look up at and know that our loved ones, even if were separated form them, are looking up at the same moon. [It] starts out as something almost very kind of poetic and emotional and unifying and then slowly over the course of episodes becomes a little more than that," Eich revealed. " [It is] the lynchpin, I guess, for the plot device that will deliver a blow to the Espheni that could be the final one."
