Glee may be moving one of its main characters to Russia for the show's sixth and final season.

Glee might send Kurt (Chris Colfer) to Russia for the final season, according to a Wednesday report by E!Online. The producers are in talks with Fox about how they want to end the popular musical series and sending Kurt to Russia is allegedly one of their ideas.

Sending their most prominent gay character to Russia could be a topical decision considering the country's recent anti-gay rulings.

Sources close to the show have also said that setting all the action in New York City is one of the options currently being discussed. This would leave Lima, Ohio behind, the place the show originated from.

Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed the difficulty in writing the show star quarterback Finn Hudson's (the late Cory Monteith) memorial episode. He admitted to reporters in mid-October that the series was originally supposed to end with Finn and Rachel (Lea Michele).

"The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn's story," Murphy explained. "I knew what the last shot was, he was in it. I knew what the last line was, she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we're figuring that out now."
