Days before getting married Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel (Topanga) tweeted her "first husband," co-star Ben Savage.

She posted a picture of her and Savage, who played her on-screen lover Cory Matthews, on Oct. 17. She captioned the shot, "Love this man. Thank you for making me so happy and being my amazing 'husband' all these years."

"Are you ready to be my wife again? Said Ben Savage via text when news of [Girl Meets World] broke. 'I never stopped' was my reply. Together forever," she added.

Fishel and Savage will reunite on TV as childhood sweethearts and now a married couple for the Boy Meets World spin-off, Girl Meets World. The show is set to tell the story of their 14-year-old daughter, Riley Matthews (played by Peyton Meyer), as she goes through adventures in middle school similar to what her parents experienced at her age.

Boy Meets World fans liked the idea of the Fisher and Savage sparking a relationship off-screen.

"I believe Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage should get married [in real life]! You 2 have always been perfect together!" one Twitter user wrote, to which Fishel replied, "We always will be."

Fishel married her Tim Belusko two days later on Oct. 19.

Us Weekly asked Fishel how her husband about the actress' relationship with Savage and referring to him as her first husband.

"He totally accepts that," she replied. "I mean, he knows that Ben and I have been together for a long time as on-screen couple and to a certain extent when you've been with someone for 20 years like that it's impossible to have none of that rub off a little bit in person."

Girl Meets World is scheduled to start filming in November and air on The Disney Channel in 2014.
