The Office fans can rejoice early, as one actress from the hit comedy is already slated to make a return to television next fall.

Ellie Kemper, who portrayed Erin Hannon on the television series, is set to star in a new comedy sitcom produced by 30 Rock's Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.

The network ordered 13 straight-to-series episodes of the new show for their lineup next fall, banking on the idea that both The Office and 30 Rock were major hits for the network, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Chairman of NBC Entertainment Robert Greenblatt praised the creative team behind the show, saying that Fey and Carlock were giving another "audacious, emotional and clever" comedy that still manages to be an original effort for the network.

"There isn't anything like this anywhere else on television," he said. "NBC has been their home for many years and we're so happy that they've found another way to push the comedy envelope for us."

Jennifer Salke, the president of NBC Entertainment, added that the network was also thrilled to be working with Kemper again, who had started as a supporting character on The Office but managed to become one of its stars by the end of the run.

"We feel fortunate to be in business with the entire creative team on something so funny, unique, and attention-getting," she said.

The comedy is expected to center on Kemper's character, who has escaped from a doomsday cult and is trying to start her life over again in New York City. By ordering episodes in a straight-to-series format NBC is bypassing the pilot stage, meaning the show will go straight into air instead of getting shopped around to other networks.

Kemper is also known for her work in the outrageous female ensemble comedy Bridesmaids, which also starred Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph.
