Neil Patrick Harris posted a Twitter picture of him with his family dressed as vampire-like ghouls for Halloween.

The How I Met Your Mother star was dressed as Frankenstein and his fiance, David Burtka, sported a Dracula costume while the kids looked equally "spooktacular." He posted the image and credited Burtka for the costumes:

"Have a spooktacular night! Here's our family Halloween pic (via @projectphotoboo): Well done, @DavidBurtka!"

It was previously suggested that the family might be going with the Alice in Wonderland theme for this year's holiday costumes, but that was just intended for a fair at their children's school. Harris posted a picture of the family dressed in bright colors -- Harris and Burtka as Tweedledee and Tweedledum and the twins as Alice and the white rabbit -- on Instagram.

Last year, the family went with a Peter Pan theme.

Harris recently apologized for the depressing Emmys in September, which he hosted, when he was guest on Watch What Happens: Live. At the awards show there were five separate breakout in-memoriam speeches, in addition to the regular one for everyone else.

"Cory Montieth's death was a big deal, and [James] Gandolfini's death was a big deal," said the Hedwig and the Angry Inch Broadway star. "I thought Edie Falco talking about Gandolfini was a really effective moment on the show, but it made everyone get really sad and then it was my job to bring it all back up. So, I think probably we should've condensed that and done it as one little moment."
