Dancing With the Stars contestant Amber Riley recently revealed that she is persevering through the competition despite struggling with some dance moves.

Riley is one of seven celebrities still left this season on Dancing With the Stars, and the Glee actress recently admitted to People magazine that it hasn't been easy.

"In the beginning - like when we did the jive - there were times we would run through the dance and after we were done I would literally just lay on the ground," Riley noted. The actress suffered a "butt injury" earlier in the competition, as noted by pro partner Derek Hough, but it wasn't severe.

Riley is one of the frontrunners this season, consistently getting high scores from the judges. On the latest episode, Riley and Hough scored a 29 out of 30, their highest score yet.

"I am genuinely shocked I am doing as well as I am," she admitted. "But I'm the type of person that if I feel something is going to defeat me, I am going to want to do it [even more]."

Riley has lost weight since beginning the competition in September. She noted that her arms are smaller and her clothes are fitting differently than before.

While the pressure of the competition is proving difficult for Riley, she is taking it as a learning experience.

"There are moves that frustrate me and tears well up in my eyes, but I am taking this experience and I'm going for it," she said. "I'm going to do every single thing - and try not to pass out."
