The soccer team at Chelsea is looking to extend their winning streak as they face off against Newcastle at 8:45 a.m. ET.

Chelsea (6-2-1) will be visiting Newcastle (3-2-4) on the Magpies' home turf at St. James' Park in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Chelsea is second in the Premier League with 20 points with Newcastle ranking at no. 11 with 11 points. This will be the English Premier League opener.

Newcastle has won two of their last three games against Chelsea. However, Chelsea has scored a perfect record in October with six wins, zero losses and zero draws through competition in the English Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the Capital One Cup.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho expressed his difficulty in sitting some of his players out but discussed the importance of going into the game with the best players.

"It's a difficult feeling for me, it's not easy for me to leave players at home and on the bench because everybody deserves to play," he said. "But we have one of the most difficult matches of the whole season at St James' Park and we want to try and keep winning."

Meanwhile, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew discussed the tough matches they've had to deal with in addition to the team they're about to face.

"I'm not worried about a slump because I think it is a long Premier League season and you have to be logical," he noted. "There are periods in the season when you have difficult games and I think we have just had a difficult batch."
