Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade gifted his long-time girlfriend actress Gabrielle Union with a championship ring of her own for her 41st birthday Tuesday night (Oct. 29).

An insider told Page Six, "Wade walked in with a gift-wrapped box, opened it with her and put it on her finger. He was there for under five minutes."

Earlier that day Wade received his own ring during a ceremony in the season opener against the Chicago Bulls. After the game he surprised the Think Like a Man actress while she celebrated her birthday at Hyde Lounge inside the American Airlines Arena before he hopped on a flight to Philadelphia for the Heat's game against the 76ers.

Later that night Union posted a picture of her and Wade on Instagram and included the caption, "And thank you to the guy that forgets to put the cap on the toothpaste, who flushes the non-flushable baby wipes but always goes all out for my birthday." Wade posted the same picture with the caption, "Happy birthday to this lady on my right....thanks for holding me down..."

She also posted a collage of pictures from her birthday celebration.

While Wade and Union are "going strong now," in September 2013 he revealed to Jay Leno on the Tonight Show that the couple recently went through a rough patch.

"Celebrity relationships are very hard. For us, this was a big year for us in our relationship. From the standpoint she was shooting her show Being Mary Jane gone most of the year," he confessed. "I was dealing with my injuries trying to win a championship so we kind of took a step back. We supported each other but we took a step back for a little while. At the end of the day we came back together and said, 'listen we want to continue this we want to continue to try to get better each day. She's been with me and I've been with her all summer long. We're going strong now."
