Social media websites was full of commentators stating that Eminem looked like he was lip-syncing on Saturday Night Live Nov. 2.

The rapper was the musical guest on the show and performed singles off the upcoming album The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Producer Rubin joined him and his live band as DJ on Berzerk and for Survival, Eminem brought out frequent collaborator Skylar Grey rather than the album's guest Liz Rodrigues.

Once Eminem got off stage, talk stirred about the quality of her performance and how much he sang live. Spin reported, "The Detroit MC deprived himself of his greatest gift on SNL" by lip-syncing."

Twitter users started a debate trying to figure out if Eminem was performing live on SNL or not:

"Worst Lip Syncing of the Year goes to @Eminem #Berzerk #SNL."

"Eminem lip syncing Berserk just ruined my night.... Seriously sat through that #SNL crap to see it and it was ruined."

"Um, was Eminem lip syncing "Berzerk"? If so...why? Seems like an odd artist to not have them perform live.

"I get the sense that Rick Rubin DJ'd Eminem's performance in a futile attempt to distract us from the lip syncing."

"Come on #Eminem, you're hugely talented. Why are you lip syncing on #SNL "

Marshall Mathers LP2 is set for release Tuesday, and is available on iTunes now.

"I do get excited to make the music," Eminem said of his new album in this interview with the Detroit Free Press. "Obviously, I'm not the type to say I'm so excited to hear my (expletive). Never been that kind of dude. But I am excited about making the music and I want people to hear it."

The rapper has not commented on the lip-syncing claims at time of publication. Watch his SNL performances videos HERE.
