Lifetime has pulled the plug on The Client List after the show's second season, TV Line reported.

Speculation is that the show's star, Jennifer Love Hewitt who played Riley Parks, couldn't see eye to eye with the network and Sony TV on which creative direction to take the show. According to the site, Hewitt wanted her actual fiancé, Brian Hallisay, to play the father of Riley's child but producers shut down that idea.

The series, which is based on Lifetime's original movie of the same name, shows Riley's adventures of working in a risqué massage parlor in Texas after her husband leaves her to raise their children. In the last episode that aired, Riley burned down the spa, possibly killing someone inside. She was on the run when police seemed to catch up with her. She heard sirens and whispered the words, "I can explain," leaving fans wondering what her fate wil be.

Hewitt might be able to keep her mind off of the loss considering she and Hallisay are expecting their first child.

The couple revealed the pregnancy in June, just days after announcing their engagement. She gushed about her pregnancy to PEOPLE in August and said, "[Being pregnant] is an awesome thing. It definitely has its moments where you're like 'Oh my gosh this is crazy,' but it's been beautiful."

Hewitt also confessed that her exercise habits have improved.

"I've actually worked out more pregnant than when I wasn't. I've been working out about five to six days a week. I do a lot of swimming, Pilates, yoga-- all good stuff for baby and for me. It gets difficult the bigger you get because it's more uncomfortable, but it's important."

Hewitt is due in December and is keeping the gender of the baby a surprise.
