Kelly Preston opened up about losing a child in an episode of the Lifetime series "Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet". Preston and husband John Travolta's son Jett died from a seizure unexpectedly while the three were on vacation in the Bahamas in 2009.
"I felt at times like I was drowning," she said, according to US Weekly. "It felt like a sea of wet blankets.  And then I just peeled them off, layer by layer, so that I can now say, 'I want to live.  I love life.  My life is beautiful and amazing.'"

The couple miraculously had a third child after the tragedy in 2010, naming their son Benjamin. "Having another child after this experience - we had to think about it, especially this late in life." They also have a 12-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu.

Preston, 49, admitted that her Scientology beliefs helped her deal with the devastating loss of her son. The actress also told People: "Nobody should have to lose a child. It's unfathomable. But I'm here to say that you can get through it. You can live again. You can want to live again."

She also hinted that she may want another child as she spoke of having Benjamin so late in life.  "Having another child after this experience - we had to think about it, especially this late in life. I always wanted to have more kids. I feel like I would even have another child, but that might be pushing it." She also revealed that she gave up drinking to become a better mother.

She said her children were "the center of our universe".

"For me, I find that our kids came in half the time to teach me about myself and to help me with others, and they have helped me so extraordinarily," she said, according to DailyMail.

"I'm not afraid to love and to love deeply. My kids help me with that. They open up your heart so much. There's nothing like the love of a child... it's the greatest thing ever."

Her interview on "Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet" will air Thursday. This comes at a time when her husband is facing charges from three masseurs accusing him of sexual harassment. The lawyer for the first accuser filed a motion to drop the lawsuit today.

Preston and Travolta have been married for 21 years.
