Fox recently released a video previewing Adam Lambert's anticipated guest role on Glee.

Lambert is playing Elliott "Starchild" Gilbert, an energetic, theater-obsessed singer who auditions for Kurt's (Chris Colfer) band. In the video, Lambert as Starchild explains that the nickname is an homage to David Bowie's famous album Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

Despite his energy, Starchild does not make a good impression on Kurt.

"When he's first introduced in his first song, which is Marry the Night by Lady Gaga, I think he's trying way too hard and doing everything he can to make a good impression," Lambert explains in the video.

Regardless of Kurt's reservations, Santana (Naya Rivera) and Dani (Demi Lovato) seem to love Starchild and his dramatic performance.

"I would not be embarrassed to share the stage with you," Santana gushes after Starchild's performance. Dani notes, "You just rocked it so hard."

In another scene, Starchild begs Kurt to be in his band, explaining that he came to New York "to be part of something cool and fun and special."

Additionally, the Idol alum revealed that he will be on the show for more than one episode and that he will be someone's nemesis, though he would not tease who it was.

Lambert also revealed that he auditioned for Glee before his appearance on American Idol. He explained that while the casting director said that they liked his voice, he was too old to be playing a high school student.

Glee airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
