Kate Gosselin fired back at her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, for claiming their eight children have "developmental issues" because of the family' show Jon & Kate Plus 8.

During the Nov. 3 episode of OWN's Where Are They Now, Jon said, "I saw my kids not growing up normally...Developmentally."

"They have problems with their peers ... with wants and and needs, and manners and morals and what's right and what's wrong," he added. "Of course. I think more so than someone who grows up off TV."

Kate took to her blog KatePlusMy8.com to share her feelings about his comments. She at first slammed him for speaking about publicly about their children "development."

"I find it very heartbreaking that my children's father chooses a public forum to discuss his current opinions of the 'development' of our children," Kate wrote. "These opinions are, in reality, value judgments made about our children and they are based on his limited visits (albeit mutually agreed upon) with our children."

She went on to say that she wrote the open letter on her "children's behalf" and stressed that they are doing exceptionally well emotionally and physically.

"Anyone who has personally met our children all have the same thing to say: they are the most normal, pleasant, police, loving and well adjusted children they have ever met. Most even go on to say that they are a 'delight' to be around."

The former couple together have 9-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, Joe, and 13-year-old twins Cara and Mady. Kate said the children will see their father's comments as "hurtful" when they get older.

"I know that I risk stirring up an unwanted public and private 'frenzy' by commenting on this, but, if our children ever stumble upon that interview, I want to be able to point them to this statement so that they know that I publicly set the record 100 percent straight on this one, for their sake."

The twins were 6 years old and the sextuplets were at the age of 2 when Jon & Kate Plus 8 aired on TLC in April 2007. The show changed to Kate Plus 8 in 2009 after the couple split and went off the air in September 2011. The show went on as Kate Plus 8 for the last two seasons.
