Jason Aldean took the stage at the Country Music Awards to perform his hit song, Night Train.

Following the presentation the award for Single of the Year to Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean strode on to stage to play a single from his similarly titled album. Performing from inside a loosely constructed boxcar, Aldean garnered cheers from the crowd despite being shrouded in darkness for most of his set.

A long time member of the country scene, Aldean was nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year as well as Musical Event of the year for his collaboration with Luke Bryan and Eric Church on the Only Way I Know.

Aldean released his fifth studio album, Night Train, last year and managed to ride its success all the way through 2013. The album spawned three No. 1 singles - Take a Little Ride, The Only Way I Know, and the title track, Night Train.

From February through October, Aldean traveled the country with the likes of Thomas Rhett, Jake Owen, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, and Kelly Clarkson for the 2013 Night Train Tour.

Outside of his musical pursuits, Aldean appeared in the film Sweet Vengeance from director Logan Miller.
