The Zac Brown Band took the stage at the Country Music Awards to perform their new single, Day of the Dead, with a little assist from the Foo Fighter's Dave Grohl.

While the group may have a country twang, they managed to bring a little folk rock to Nashville. Brown pumped out vocals while Grohl seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself on the drums. Add in a little fiddle and keyboard and the band's darker tune proved to be one of the most interesting performances of the night.

Nominated for Vocal group of the year, the Zac Brown Band consists of Brown (lead vocals, guitar), Jimmy De Martini (fiddle, vocals), John Driskell Hopkins (bass guitar, vocals), Coy Bowles (guitar, keyboards), Chris Fryar (drums), Clay Cook (mandolin, steel guitar, vocals, guitar), and Daniel de Los Reyes (percussion).

Hailing from Atlanta, Ga., the group put out their last album, Uncaged, in 2012 and have an untitled album slated for release sometime in 2014. The band first premiered Day of the Dead at a concert in Vancouver, British Columbia back in September.

Dave Grohl has been in a multitude of bands ranging from Nirvana to the Foo Fighters and contributes vocals, drums, guitars, bass, and piano.
