Thousands of people in the Philippines are reportedly being forced to relocate due to what's being described as an extremely strong tropical cyclone that's fastly approaching the country.

According to CNN, Super Typhoon Haiyan is bringing winds up to 195 mph and gusts of 235 mph across the Western Pacific, and is currently headed for the central Philippines.

While conducting a statement on Thursday, President Benigno S. Aquino III issued a warning to the residents about the "calamity our countrymen will face in these coming days."

"Let me repeat myself. This is a very real danger, and we can mitigate and lessen the effects if we use the information available to prepare," he stated.

Authorities from within the region are said to have transported in excess of 3,800 people to evacuation centers by late Thursday, stated Reynaldo Balido, Philippine Office of Civil Defense worker.

A majority of those relocated are said to reside in Tacloban City, an area that is on the coast of the island of Leyte and have a population of over 200,000.

The government currently has three C-139 cargo aircrafts on standby, along with 32 planes and helicopters from the air force, said the president.
