To the excitement of its worldwide followers, iTV has released the details on the season 4 finale of its hit British-American drama, Downton Abbey.

The official synopsis for the highly anticipated Christmas Special episode goes as follows:

"Rosamund hatches a plan to help Edith out of her predicament, but will Violet see straight through it? Isobel is on the receiving end of some unexpected attention, while Mary asks Gillingham for a favour ... Rose has her nose put out of joint when plans don't go her way, and Alfred realises too late that he may have made a mistake. Just when Bates and Anna seem to be coming through the worst of their troubles, some unexpected news gives her fresh cause for concern."

Judging by the description, it appears as though John (Brendan Coyle) and Anna Bates (Joanne Froggatt) will have to deal with the fact that Mr. Green (Nigel Harman) has returned to the Abbey.

According to Carter Matt, the more Mr. Green speaks, the more that Bates will think he was the one who raped Anna, which means that the latter could try to kill him. However, such an action would most likely mean that him and Anna would be separated forever.

Downton Abbey will be airing its finale episode on Sunday, Dec. 25 in the U.K. For more of the latest info on the popular TV series, be sure to keep checking back with Enstars. A video trailer for its next episode can be watched below.
