One Direction's Niall Horan was accompanied by a mystery brunette Sunday, Nov. 9, as he attended his nephew Theo's christening at St Michael's Church in Castletown, Geoghegan and became the child's godfather.

The woman in Horan's entourage, rumored to be his new girlfriend, came to the christening wearing a red dress and spent her time with the singer's mother, Maura, according to Irish Independent. The young woman had an English accent and reportedly told fans she was from London.

The 20-year-old Story of My Life singer arrived at the church in a Mercedes E200 to dozens of screaming fans waiting for him. He was mobbed by fans upon his arrival at 4 p.m. and had to enter the church through a back door, Daily Mail reported. A group of girls clung to Horan and make it difficult for him to move toward his car after the service, but his handlers ultimately assisted him in getting inside the vehicle.

The One Direction star wore a three-piece tweed suit with black shoes and a white shirt. He stood as witness for baby Theo alongside the mother's niece, Rachel. Theo's parents, Horan's brother Greg and wife Denise, posed for pictures with their baby boy and spoke to fans.

Greg reportedly told the Irish Daily Star ahead of the christening that he wished the ceremony would not be swarming with paparazzi and screaming fans.

"We're hoping for a low-key christening but we hoped for a low-key wedding and we didn't get that," he said. "Ah, we always welcome the fans to Mullingar, it's nice to see them traveling all the way to get a photograph with Niall, but we would like to keep Theo's christening as private as possible."

"We don't get Niall home very often and when we do we like to spend as much time as we can with him," he added.

The musician also tweeted that he needed some privacy to enjoy time with his family: "Haven't seen my family in 4 months! Would be soo grateful if I could spend some quality time with them! Appreciate your respect !"
