‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Spoilers: New Promo PHOTOS Show Spidey as a Fireman? [VIDEO]
Columbia Pictures is promoting the next film in The Amazing Spider-Man series with official photos and cryptic teasers ahead of the movie's release in the summer of 2014.
Official promotional photos from the movie released exclusively to The Times of India. The three images provide insight and clues into possible scenes and plot points in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The first photo shows Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man outside The Daily Bugle offices wearing a fire helmet on his head and holding a hose as sparks fly all around him. Clues in the photo allude to a major fight sequence between Spidey and possible villains (several have been teased on the The Daily Bugle Tumblr page). It also alludes to Spiderman being forced to take action where the fire department cannot.
Could there be a DC-inspired Dark Knight Rises attack on the Fire Department in this film? Fans of the Batman franchise remember that Bane was able to trap most of the Gotham City PD underground during his reign of terror. Could Electro or someone else have accomplished a similar feat with the fire department in this film?
The second photo shows Jamie Foxx's Electro as he tries adjusting to his life of crime. He appears to be in some secret location in the photo, wearing a black hooded ensemble as he glows blue with electrical current.
The final photo reveals a scene between Garfield's Peter Parker and Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy outside of Parker's home, though the two try to keep away from one another. Peter made a promise to Gwen's father, the former police chief, at the end of the first film that he wouldn't expose Gwen to his dangerous lifestyle. He appears to be finding that more difficult as Gwen continues to pursue her first love.
Fans will get the first official look at the film when its trailer is revealed before screenings of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug this December.
