Man of Steel 2 director Zack Snyder recently revealed new details about the highly anticipated Batman-Superman face-off.

Snyder spoke at a panel for Man of Steel on Saturday, revealing new information about its sequel. Going into Man of Steel 2, a.k.a. Batman vs. Superman, fans should expect for there to be "physical conflicts" between the iconic superheroes, according to Snyder.

"The fun of the idea is to be able to play with that relationship," he continued. "Whether they fight and become friends, or whether they're friends and they fight."

Additionally, Snyder teased the idea that Superman (Henry Cavill) will be haunted by killing General Zod (Michael Shannon) in Man of Steel. "Maybe we'll see the repercussions of that in the next film," Snyder suggested. "Maybe."

In other Man of Steel 2 news, several contenders have been revealed for the role of Nightwing, the evolved version of Robin. The leading contender is reported to be Adam Driver (Girls), according to an official report by TheWrap.

Two new names that have popped up as potential contenders for the role are Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl) and Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower). SuperheroMovieNews.com first reported the news that Badgley and Miller were contenders alongside Driver.

Though few details are known about Man of Steel 2, the cast is gradually falling into place. While Ben Affleck is making his debut appearance as Batman, the film will feature many actors returning from Man of Steel. In addition to Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams returns as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.
