Dancing With the Stars competitors had to master the art of the trio dance or face elimination during Monday night's competition.

Week 9 ended with the departure of Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Val Chmerkovskiy despite the duo's outstanding 30-point performance in the trio competition.

Corbin Blue and Karina Smirnoff were this week's big winners. After receiving a 28 for their Waltz, the pair teamed up with Witney Carson to perform a 30-point Jazz routine. Combined with their strong performance last week, the duo was, unsurprisingly, pronounced safe.

Lauren and Chmerkovskiy were the second highest scoring team of the night with a combined total of 56. Their Viennese Waltz was given a 26 by the judges while their Salsa with Gleb Savchenko garnered a perfect score. Unfortunately, the dancers are eliminated based on votes cast for last week's performance, during which they scored a 25.

Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani tied with Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke for a final score of 54. Remini and Dovolani recived a 27 for their Argentine Tango and a 27 for their Jive with Henry Bayalikov while Osbourne and Burke took a 29 in the Viennese Waltz and a 25 in their Samba with Sharna Burgess.

Amber Riley and Derek Hough pulled in 24 for the Quickstep (see video below) and a 27 for their trio Salsa, a score that placed them far above the night's worst performers. Bill Engvall and Emma Slater only received a 21 for both their Charleston and their Salsa with Peta Murgatroyd.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
