The final verdict on The Mentalist's Red John's fate is in.

While fans will still have to wait two more weeks to find out the true identity of Patrick Jane's (Simon Baker) elusive nemesis, Baker recently reveled what will happen when Jane does come face to face with his family's murderer.

The fuax-psychic has consistently claimed that he will kill Red John and he has previously proved that he is quite serious, including during last Sunday's "Fire and Brimstone." However, the CBI's Lisbon (Robin Tunney) is intent on making sure Jane doesn't go through with his revenge plan.

All these years, Jane's always said, 'I'm going to kill that bastard,'" Heller said, according to TV Guide. "Lisbon's always said, 'I understand you want to do that, but I am the law.' Now that issue is not a theoretical one, it's a real one."

However, TV Guide Magazine recent revealed that Lisbon will ultimately be unsuccessful. Jane will kill Red John in the eponymous episode on Nov. 24 (originally Nov. 17).

"It's almost like a love scene, as perverse as that sounds," Baker told TV Guide Magazine. "The end of Red John was originally planned to take place at night on the street with people watching, but I pushed to do it in the daylight in a quiet, beautiful place where they could be alone. There is no human act more intimate - not even sex - than killing another human being and watching them die."

The Mentalist airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. Check out a preview for next week's episode, "The Great Red Dragon," by clicking the video below.
