Cast and crew members from Amish Mafia were spotted in various parts of Lancaster Country, Penn. recently, stirring speculation that filming has began for the show's third season.

Scenes for the Discovery Channel series were reportedly shot north of Lititz on Friday, Nov. 15, Lancaster Online reported. Filming was also said to take place on private property on Dead End Road, in Elizabeth Township, Penn., just west of Route 322 and north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

It was unclear whether the filming was for the beginning of season three, slated to premiere next year, or a special Christmas episode the show is airing in December.

An eyewitness who saw Mafia star Merlin Miller recently in Bird-in-Hand, Penn., wrote on the Facebook fan page "Merlin from Amish Mafia," that the reality star was potentially filming for the Christmas special.

"Just saw him destroying an INFLATABLE SANTA in BIRD-IN-HAND PA at the one room school house museum RT. 340 on 11/11/13 THEY WAS FILMING very funny watching Merlin go nuts!!!!" Joey Orner posted Nov. 13.

If Orner's eyewitness account is true, it suggests the cast and crew are currently filming the Christmas episode, but will soon begin production on the highly anticipated third season.

There is no word on if Esther Schmucker's role on the show will be affected as she recovers from a physical assault by her boyfriend, Imir. R. Williams. It is also unclear if Alan Beiler, who was reportedly released from Perry County Prison on Nov. 8, will be filming scenes.
