Bee Gees' Robin Gibb died in London Sunday after a battle with cancer, he was 62.

Gibbs reportedly died at a London hospital after battling colon and liver cancer.

"The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time," said a statement released by the musician's family today, according to Chart Watch.

The news were also confirmed by his representative.

Gibbs was in coma since April 14 after he had a recovery from cancer but was fighting pneumonia.

On April 22 he woke from the come and was conscious and able to speak to his wife and family.

The singer was sufferint from advanced bowel cancer, pneumonia and liver failure.

The Bee Gees was formed in 1958 and earned great success for many decades. Among their greatest hits are "Massachusetts," "Stayin Alive" and "I've Gotta Get A Message To You."

Most recently, Gibbs premiered his first classical work "The Titanic Requiem," which is being released to mark the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.
