Despite their often volatile relationship over the years, Alec Baldwin and his 17-year-old daughter Ireland still have a strong relationship, as evidenced by Ireland's recent tweets in defense of her father.

Ireland took to Twitter over the weekend to defend her father after he reportedly made a gay slur on Thursday, Nov. 14.

"Sometimes we let our tempers get the best of us. Tempers are like wildfires. Something or someone can easily fuel the fire...It takes a lot of strength for someone to release their anger," she tweeted two days. "For someone who has battled with anger management issues, my dad has grown tremendously....My dad is far from a homophobe or a racist."

The aspiring model, who is daughter to actress Kim Basinger, also slammed paparazzi for constantly following her and her mother around.

"Having paparazzi following my mom and I has not been thrilling," she also wrote.

Ireland was the focus of an incident where she was on the receiving end of her father's anger back in 2007. An angry voicemail her father left her leaked and in the audio, Alec called his daughter "a thoughtless little pig."

Ireland has since forgiven her father for the incident and even took to Instagram to blast New York Daily News for referencing the incident in its headline about her tweets.

"This hurts. I am a human being," she captioned the photo.
