Misha Collins interned in the White House, started an international scavenger hunt, and tired to sneak into China while buried under vegetables. He's also happens to be the face of Supernatural's the socially awkward angel, Castiel.

After growing up in a poor, sometimes homeless family, Collins decided he would carve out a career in politics. Following a White House internship during Bill Clinton's tenure, the Boston native changed courses.

"I for some reason grew up thinking that I was going to go into politics. I think that I thought that was the best way to effect change in the world," Collins recently said on Larry King Now. "Then I got an internship at the White House and I was working at National Public Radio and I was really disappointed by the experience and I decided to get out of that and go somewhere people have integrity...Hollywood."

Despite leaving the political world behind, the 39-year-old actor has still managed to create change on an impressive scale. From Random Act - a charity he founded with his Twitter followers - to the art and service project oriented Greatest international Scavenger hunt the World Has Ever Seen (GISHWHES), Collins has mobilized his fan base into a force for change. Now that Random Acts has completed work on a orphanage and community center in Haiti, Collins and the group plan an bringing a project to San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.

When Collins isn't conducting charity work, raising his kids, or attempting to sneak into China in the back of a vegetable cart (spoiler alert: it didn't work), the actor is busy portraying the formerly angelic Castiel on the CW's Supernatural, a role which he feels has some connection to his real life.

"Castiel....is an angel who has been for years trying to fit in with humanity and just doesn't quite, doesn't quite fit in. He's always a misfit. And I think I think I guess there's something, there's something about myself...I've always felt like I don't quite fit in."
