'Terminator 5' Spoilers: Movie Inspired by Christopher Nolan & Tim Burton's 'Batman?' Rumored Director Disses Joel Schumacher's 'Batman?'

In a recent interview with SlashfilmTerminator 5's rumored director said that Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan's Batman were inspirations if he were to direct the next installment of the franchise.

Taylor didn't budge from his old statement when asked to confirm if he was the director of Terminator 5, but he did not deny it either. He instead stated that he is officially going to call it a rumor, since it was still very early to announce anything.

"I'm under the personal policy to say it's a rumor. Funny thing was it came out really early, a reminder of what the blogosphere can do. I had one conversation, didn't tell anyone and then all of a sudden, BOOM! It was on line the next day," he said. "So my agent said, "you probably should know [this is gonna come up]." But its progressed a lot since then, but I'm still officially going to call it a rumor."

The director did have an answer when asked about his vision for the next in the mega-franchise if he were actually to direct it. Taylor first reiterated how much he loved the first two films in the Terminator franchise.

"We all love the first two and I actually went back and watched them again and my respect level only went up for those first two," he said of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

Speaking of a similar franchise being an inspiration for the fifth Terminator, he suggested that two films in the Batman franchise were "wonderful." The Thor director said the franchise "turned a little bananas" after that.

Taylor went on to state that he loved Tim Burton and Christophar Nolan's Batman. He gave no cpmpliments to Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, both of which were directed by Joel Schumacher.

"Tim Burton's first Batman is just glorious and by the time it got around to nipples on costumes and all that stuff it sort of lost its way," he said. "And for [Christopher] Nolan to come in an say 'I respect this material so much I'm going to take it up to *here,* that's a great inspiration.' I think any version, whoever is directing Terminator, would be very respectful and serve the first two and probably feel a bit more freedom by the end."

Terminator 5 is scheduled for release in July 2015, according to IMDb.
