Oprah Winfrey and Juno writer Diablo Cody will collaborate on a new HBO comedy based on Dr. Julie Holland's book Moody Bitches, according to an exclusive report by The Hollywood Reporter.

HBO execs said that the show will "expose the truth about the drugs you're taking, the sex you're not having, the sleep you're missing and what's really making you crazy."

Holland's book explores how drugs impact people's everyday lives. The author, who is a psychopharmacologist and a psychiatrist, discussed the advantages and disadvantages of both chemical drugs and natural alternatives that people are using.

The book doesn't have a release date yet and Holland will be credited as an executive producer on the project. Cody will be writing the script for the show and will also be credited as a creator. Winfrey will be co-producing the show through her Harpo banner.

Fox had ordered a pilot of Holland's first book, Weekends at Bellevue: Nine Years on the Night Shift at the Psych ER, a memoir about her days as a weekend head at a psychiatric emergency ward at the Belleviue hospital, in 2011. But the show was not picked up.

Cody is also working on a new teen drama called Prodigy for FOX.

In other Winfrey related news, it was revealed that The Butler director Lee Daniels had told the talk show host that her first take for the film "sucked."

In a recent interview with THR, the director spoke about his experience working with Winfrey.

"'No! That sucks! What are you doin'? It's not real! It's fake!,'" he said, recalling his first take with her. "She was like, 'Huh?' -- just sort of reeling from that. It took her a minute to understand not being in charge. But I think she almost got off on it."
