Emma Roberts got very excited when she met One Direction at the American Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 24.

The American Horror Story: Coven star, and apparent 1D fan, took selfies with Niall Horan and Liam Payne on the red carpet and later posted the pictures on Instagram, showing her social media followers how much she loves the singers. For her close-up shot with Payne, who is dating Sophia Smith, the actress captioned it "#OneDirection you made my night!!!!"

Roberts introduced One Direction on stage to perform Story of My Life. She shined at the awards ceremony in a strapless, floor-lengthed Lanvin dress that she paired with a fushia  Rodo clutch and Casadei pumps.

"I've been eyeing them for about 20 minutes," she told E! News on the red carpet about keeping tabs on 1D. "I'm so excited to see them. I think they're so talented."

The 22-year-old actress got the chance to meet the rest of the group - including Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - after they performed. Roberts called the experience "a dream come true." 

The night was also gratifying for the boy band, who went home with two AMA wins: Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo or Group, and Favorite Pop/Rock Album.

"What the hell just happened! 2 #AMAs! You guys are incredible," Noran tweeted. "Thank you so much! It's a great night for all of us ! Fans, crew, everyone."
