MSNBC is pulling the plug on Alec Baldwin's new show Up Late in wake of the star's recent homophobic remarks and violent behavior toward the paparazzi.

The show's executives initially chose to only suspend the show for two weeks but now decided to cancel it. While New York Post suggested that the actor had been "fired," Baldwin's spokesperson was not comfortable with the use of the word to describe the show's termination. Instead, the representative said that Baldwin wasn't sure if he wanted to continue being on the show.

"The show is not coming back. He had questions on whether he wanted to continue," the spokesperson said.

An insider who spoke to the publication cited other reasons to explain the cancellation: "The decision has been made. He's gone. The [parent company] Comcast guys have decided. Word is spreading through the building."

MSNBC confirmed that Baldwin had indeed been let go in a brief statement to The Huffington Post, saying, "This is a mutual parting and we wish Alec all the best."

It is being suggested that another reason for giving the actor the boot was his fickle, unreasonably demanding attitude, and his rude behavior toward other co-workers.

The star reportedly wanted a humidifier installed in his room after claiming the air was too dry and demanded an exclusive makeup room that was being used by a cancer patient who was sensitive to hairspray. When he was denied that space, the actor allegedly threw a fit, exclaiming that he didn't "give a f---k if she had cancer or not" and that he wanted that makeup room.
